Wine bottle pumpkins

I got this idea from Pinterest a few weeks ago and lo and behold I have many empty wine bottles! My wine cutting idea didn't quite pan out. Spray paint wine bottles orange, add a black face. Thanks...http://naptimecrafting.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2011-10-07T10:42:00-07:00&max-results=10&start=20&by-date=false

Shrinky Dinks DIY made from styrofoam meat trays

I remember years ago when my mom would save the styrofoam meat trays and we would make shrinky dinks. Take a white meat tray and cut it in half if you would like. If you want a hole in it, punch one before you put it into the oven. With Sharpie,Crayola markers or colored pencils (not crayons) have your child color the tray. It is ok if you color on the sides, it will all flatten out in the end. preheat your oven to 300 degrees. On a piece of aluminum foil, place your colored tray and put into oven. This whole process will happen in about a minute or 2. Watch constantly! The tray will curl, l flatten out in the end. I put a quarter next to the tray in the beginning and end to show you how much it shrinks. The kids have fun watching it in the oven.

Fun Activity for Kids! Bingo Marker Paintings

Tonight I was cleaning out my craft area and came across these bingo markers. About 12 years ago I used to work as a Recreation Therapist and was always trying to come up with activities for my patients. This is an activity was so much fun. My kids loved to do it...make paintings with Bingo Markers. They love making dots and it isn't very messy. The Bingo markers can be purchased anywhere; I have seen them at Walmart and Meijer. Great activity for preschools!

Blueberry, white chocolate chip, Biscoff cookies

I was reading another blog where they had a recipe for these cookies made with biscoff spread. We are on the second bottle in our house! The cookies are delicious. They had a real buttery taste and are great with coffee. Here is the recipe. I would definitely make these again.

Cinnamon Rolls made in a waffle maker!

It worked! Saw the idea on Pinterest of course!  Take some store bought cinnamon rolls and make them in a waffle maker! So easy and delicious! I didn't have to spray my iron with Pam at all but you might do it the first time just in case. With my particular waffle iron, they were done perfectly when the green light came back on, I wouldn't eat more that one of these as they are so rich, but would be good with a side of eggs!

Hand knit hats for children

These are a few hats I have knitted this past year. I enjoy knitting as it is so relaxing. If you have a request for certain colors, I will make it for you. The strawberry hat will probably fit a 3 to 4 year old. The magenta hat with white flower-a newborn to 6 months. The hot pink with cream flower-2 to 3 year old. These hats are up for sale for $10 each.

Good dessert! Chocolate chip cookie brownies

We were over at a friends house and she had these brownies layered with a chocolate chip cookie. They were so good! She bought the box mix which costs about $4.99 in
the store. Today I made them...I bought 2 box mixes-one a brownie mix and the other a chocolate chip cookie mix. Made them in separate bowls. In a muffin tin, sprayed with Pam, I put a bit of the brownie batter then put a dollop of cookie dough batter on top and baked for 20 minutes. They were so good, only 2 were left at the end of the night! Something new other than the plain old brownie!

Homemade microwave caramels...to die for!

Someone posted a recipe for homemade caramels made in the microwave. My family just loves caramels, so I had to try it. I didn't have butter but replaced it with margarine. I cooked it for a total of 8 minutes as it seemed a bit watery. They turned out so good! They turned out very soft.I would like them a bit firmer. Next time I will use butter to see if the cooking time makes a difference. I sprinkled them with sea salt....delicious. Here is the original recipe. http://www.food.com/recipe/microwave-caramels-367414

My love for mosaics...

I think as a crafter, I have tried about everything! One of my favorite things to do mosaic birdbaths! I scour garage sales and frequently go to the dollar store looking for inexpensive pretty plates. My kids tell me, "are you going to break them Mom?" I laugh! Here are a couple of birdbaths that I have made.Follow Me on Pinterest

My crazy dog Riley

I have to tell you about me dog Riley. We rescued him back in November. He is obsessed with food and has torn through 6 lunch boxes. He has some issues. From time to time, I will post his crazy adventures.

My first post!

Thank you for looking at my blog. I have read so many good blogs lately that I thought I would start sharing my ideas too.

I have a Keurig coffee machine. It is one of my favorite appliances in the kitchen. I use my own filter but occasionally like to use the pre-made cups. I didn't want to spend $20 on an organizer but wanted something stylish to keep on my counter. I went to TJ Maxx and found a cute flowerpot that I now keep my cups in. I only spent $4.99!Follow Me on Pinterest
