Farmhouse Coffee Table DIY

complete!

This is the 3rd time that I have refinished this coffee table. My neighbor was throwing it away. I painted it. Stenciled it, repainted it. I saw on Pinterest where you could add 1 by 4 boards to the top and give it a farmhouse look. I really like the way it turned out.

This is how it looked when I started.

I purchased 7 boards from Lowes's for about $2.00 a piece and cut them to desired lengths.

I glued them on top with wood glue.  Screwed them in from the bottom, gave it a coat of dark walnut stain and then put a coat of polyurethane on top.

Grandma Malone’s Amish Sugar Cookie Recipe

This Easter, I am honoring Grandma Malone by making her Amish sugar cookies. Sprinkle your cookies before baking with your choice of color. I chose bright yellow.
Here is the recipe and the cookies are delicious!

Elephant Stones

#savetheelephants!

Elephants have been one of my favorite animals so I painted them onto some stones I had. It is so relaxing for me to do this technique.

Cheap Outdoor Halloween Fixture

I purchased these plastic pumpkin pails at Target for $1.00 each. I cut a slit into the back of the pumpkin down to the bottom and then made a larger opening. (see picture). You may have to adjust yours differently depending on the fixture. I saw this idea on Pinterest of course.
